IPL 2025 March 2025 will see the debut of the brand-new 19th Edition of the Indian Cricket Tournament. After all ten teams finalized their basic lines, the player retention window for the TATA Indian Premier League 2025 season ended on October 31, 2024. With a combined investment of INR 558.5 crore, the teams have kept 46 players.
Franchises were permitted to keep up to six players (Retention/Right to Match), with a maximum of five capped internationals and up to two uncapped Indian players, with a total salary ceiling of INR 120 crore available at the mega auction for each side to assemble a squad of 25 players.
Both the first-season winners, the Rajasthan Royals, and the defending champions, the Kolkata Knight Riders, have chosen to retain all six players. Five players have been retained by the Chennai Super Kings, Gujarat Titans, Lucknow Super Giants, Mumbai Indians, and Sunrisers Hyderabad. In the meantime, four players have been retained by the Delhi Capitals, three by the Royal Challengers Bengaluru, and two by the Punjab Kings (PBKS).PBKS enters the much awaited, action-packed mega auction with the biggest purse, having amassed INR 110.5 crore.
