Manali -: Manali is a popular tourist destination in India, A gift of the Himalayas to the world. It is a rustic enclave known for its cool climate and snow-capped mountains. The tourists mainly come because of its natural bounties and salubrious climate.

Manali is the real starting point of an ancient trade route which crosses the Rohtang and Baralacha passes, and runs via Lahul and Ladakh to Kashmir while divergent road connects it with Spiti. Now the motor link have been provided up to Leh in Jammu & Kashmir, Pangi valley in Chamba and Kaza of Lahul & Spiti.

How to Reach:
By Air –
The nearest airport is Kullu-Manali Airport which is 50 km from Manali located in Bhunter.
By Train –
The nearest railway station is Joginder Nagar which is 160 Km far on Mandi-Pathankot way is a narrow gauge track. Kiratpur is another railway station 240 Km far on Kullu-Chandigarh highway. Another nearby railway station is Una which is approx. 300 km. from Kullu.
By Road –
This place is easy to reach by road from big cities in Himachal Pradesh and nearby states. The State Transport (HRTC – Himachal Road Transport Corporation) runs good buses to all the main spots. There are also private buses in the state. You can easily get a taxi too.
If we divide your expense through out the trip into 3 major categories it can be:
- Your Travel to and fro Manali – Well if you are on a really low budget, the cheapest way to get there is via Himachal roadways. There charge a flat fees of around Rs. 600 to get you to Manali. All the frequent buses depart from ISBT Kashmere Gate.
- Stay and Food – If you are on low budget or even if you are a purse full of money, stay at a hostel!! It will be a guaranteed experience.

Manali offers a loads of cheap street food. From Parathas to Momos and Dosas, Manali has it all and its super cheap.
- Transportation in the city –
A lot of micro buses are running in Manali to and fro from the places of major interest. The fare is cheap. 20–25 bucks one side.
Here’s a great tip: I like renting a scooter or bike in Manali. It saves a ton of time! Plus, You get awesome Instagram photos and can be flexible with your schedule. It usually costs around 300–400 Rs per day.
